We love this place, cute, kind staff and the best food that you can't find anywhere else. You pick your seat, grab a platter and then self serve yourself at the open refrigerator case. You pick at least 6 skewers ($1.35 each) and they will boil them in a $.99 soup base (mild, spicy, or curry) and you'll get free noodles (glass or rice). Favorites are taro, chicken, mushrooms, cabbage wrapped rolls, bacon wrapped chives).
Grab another platter to pick other ones to have deep fried in sweet potatoes flakes. Served with spicy ketchup and sprinkled with spice.
You and your meal by choosing the fried buns. They are served as a dessert course with sweetened condensed milk. You're welcome!
Try this amazing place, you won't regret it! -

Been here a few times. I am glad they brought the skewer concept from China to make 82nd even more awesome. I wish there could be an option for an individual pot so people can boil their food at the table. I prefer the non-fried skewers because the fried ones all taste similar as opposed to the non-fried ones which original tastes are kept. Chicken popcorn is good.
Price can be more reasonable. Vegetables cost the same as meat and you don't get more vegetables on the skewer. -

Such a great find! We were craving hot pot on a cold day but didn't feel like eating at an all you can eat place due to not being starving and not wanting a $100 dollar ticket by the end of the night.
We had seen this place a few times since we have been to other places in its shopping center. Finally came in!
Pretty small, tables are four tops and there are probably 5 of them. A few bar seats, too.
Neat concept, you walk to the back, pick all the veggies and proteins that you want, stack them on a tray had them through a window to the kitchen and choose a broth and pay.
We like spicy food and I believe I still chose the mild and it was a little too mild for me but she suggested starting with that for a first time.
Will be back, and will grab way more items this time!
Well priced per item -

One of my most favorite places to eat at when I want to eat a quick meal or snack because of they give you the option of choosing your own food amount for the skewers. In addition to that, it is cheap and affordable. I would highly recommend their popcorn chicken and fried skewers of various meats. It's very tender and crisp.
It's a convenient and the waitress is super friendly and kind! One thing that should be known is that it's a small restaurant so please be aware of the seating and tables if you are planning to travel in large groups! -

I have been here at least a dozen times now, and this five star review is long overdue. The food is consistently good. I usually get the boiled skewers with vermicelli and spicy soup base. The soup base has tons of flavor. The skewers were boiled perfectly. All the veggies were cooked through but all the meat are still tender. Recently I also tried the fried skewers and the Dan dan noodle. I love the fried skewers, especially the seasonings they put on it. The fry was perfect. Not too greasy and it does not fall off. I definitely recommend trying the fried "man you". It's the fried dough with condensed milk - it is super good when it's fresh and hot. The Dan dan noodle is good too. The meat sauce is very flavorful.
This continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. I try my best to make the 35 minute drive one way as often as possible.
